This study aimed to assess the role of policy networks on labour market policies and their effects on youth employment. The research has examined how key players such as the government, the private sector, and organised labour can influence the success or failure of youth employment policies. Policy network theory was used to examine the institutional arrangements of decision-making.

Libraries are the important resources that knowledge production institutions such as schools must have in order to effectively realise their objectives. It is important to note that libraries are hubs of the learning environment; hence they need to be managed by skilled people who are well aware of their functions, purpose and role in terms of meeting the school’s vision, mission and goals.

Innovation in our educational system is driving our education towards new directions and new heights. Students of the 21st century generation owing to current advances, learn best with technology. This may be one of the reasons our educational system is shifting towards the use of educational technologies. One of the universities in South Africa introduced a policy stipulating Moodle as a mandatory teaching and learning platform from undergraduate to postgraduate.

A curriculum is centred around what is taught, why it is taught, to whom it is taught and who is teaching. These are questions of the moment in the higher education landscape since knowledge is always contested in teaching and learning spaces.

Cataloguing is the process of creating metadata representing information sources such as books, sound recordings, digital video disks (DVDs), journals and other materials found in a library or group of libraries. This process requires the use of standardised cataloguing tools to achieve the bibliographic description, authority control, subject analysis and assignment of classification notation to generate a library catalogue.

Life Sciences and Natural Sciences teachers are expected to adapt and to implement curriculum changes that are designed by the Department of Basic Education. The new Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) for Life Sciences and Natural Sciences stipulates that teachers are expected to integrate environment and sustainability content knowledge in their science teaching. In order for this to materialise, a specialised multipronged approach is necessary. It is argued that teachers work in diverse contexts and need to be innovative in order to teach science that is relevant to the lives of learners. Teenagers’ networked participatory culture is influenced by the way they interact, self-present themselves, establish and maintain friendships, and the way they coordinate their day to day lives. Livingstone and Third (2017) have argued that these have contributed to teenagers’ pervasive access and use of social media and mobile phones.

‘The mind-body problem’ is the problem of how to understand conscious awareness within a world made up of physical things. But I argue that any view according to which it is meaningful to use different terms to refer to ‘the mind’ and ‘the body’ must be a dualist view; and that dualism is not a satisfactory metaphysical position. A strong case can be made for the claim that even those who profess to be opposed to dualism can often still be described as ‘closet’ dualists.
